Now our company supply two types MoSi2 heating elements, one is M1700 type, which ensure max. furnace temperature 1650C; another is M1800 type, which ensure max. furnace temperature 1700C. When you place order, please choose suitable type according to your furnace working temperature.

MoSi2 heating element
On the base of MoSi2 made of a high temperature antioxidant resistance element, a layer of compact quartz (SiO2) glass film is formed on the surface of the element under high temperature oxidizing atmosphere,which prevent the inner layer of MoSi2 from further oxidizing.
Under oxidizing atmosphere, the max. temperature can up to 1800C. With the temperature rising, the resistance increases rapidly, which would stay stable when the temperature is constant. Generally the resistance won't change with how long the use of time, therefore the old and new elements can be mixed use.
Our MoSi2 heating elements are widely used in the field of metallurgy, steel, glass, ceramics, refractories, crystal, electronic components, semiconductor materials. Especially for high performance precision ceramics, high grade artificial crystal, the structure of the precision metal ceramic, glass fiber, optical fiber and high alloy steel production.
High temperature antioxidant property:
At a high temperature oxidizing atmosphere, a dense quartz SiO2 protect layer will be generated in surface of hot zone to prevent the element further oxidation. When the temperature is higher than 1700C, the protection layer would be melt. Due to the effect of surface tension, quartz agglomerating into drops, and loses the protection. Then continue to use in the oxidizing atmosphere, quartz protection layer again generate.
Note: the element can't be used for a long time in the temperature range of 400C to 700C, otherwise it will be strongly oxidated and damaged
3.The influence of different atmosphere

The resistance of MoSi2 heating element doesn't vary with the using time, so the old and new products can be mixed.
Suitable surface lad is the key to optimum longest service life. when to design the furnace, please refer to the recommend surface load at different atmosphere.
When installing the element, don't turn the screw of clip head too tight, turning tight again at the high temperature. As the element have some plastic is not easy to break. The temperature of clamp head generally doesn't exceed 200C. So the voltage between clamp wire and the element should low 0.1V.
In order to avoid the radiant heat spread to the clamp head, the distance from the clamp to the above of the refractory brick should not be less than 50mm. So the working current of Dia6/12mm element can't exceed 170A for a long time. and the Dia9/18mm can't exceed 300A.

Materials: Use the best molybdenum powder and silica powder from the biggest national company. The composition and particle size of each batch powder is precisely inspected by the third-party organization.
